Here's a preview of a Bastiladon which I finished a few days ago. I'll post more pictures of within a day or two. This post will be edited later on, so check back for more :)
**Edited**
I added more photos of the whole process including a small tutorial on how to paint a Bastiladon... I'll split this in a 2-3 part tutorial as time is limited for me.
Enjoy!!
The most annoying thing to do is to apply a white basecoat on a model. If applied directly from a spraycan on a plastic surface the paint won't stick good enough and it requires a very long time to do so. A good and easy method is to apply Chaos Black as the first layer and afterwards applying Skull White as the second one.
When the basecoat is done I used Reikland Fleshshade as the only paint/shade for it's skin.
Start thining down the shade by 1:1 shade -water and apply it on the whole skin as the primary color. From this point use pure shade ( no thinning down). The more you're away from the belly the more shade you use. Be aware to put 1 layer of shade at a time and let it dry before you start on the next layer. Apply more shade in the recesses of the skin.
Scales: use Calibran Green and paint it several times before it becomes dark. Wash it with Nuln Oil afterwards.
Tongue:
1. Basecoat Daemonette Hide
2. Wash gently with Nuln Oil
3. Highlight using Daemonette Hide
4. Highlight using Warpfiend Grey
5. Final Highlight using Slaanesh Grey
Scales:
1. Use a mix of Snotgreen/water (1:1) and apply it on the scales. Leave the top of it's scales clean and the further you are towards the edge, the more paint you apply.
2. A mix of Straken Green/water (1:2)
3. A mix of Straken Green/water (1:1)
4. Straken Green
5. A mix of Elysian Green/water (1:2)
6. Finish it gently with a mix of Elysian Green/water (1:1)
Highlight the edges of the scales with Snot Green
