Chaos Space Marines: Reviewing, purchasing, setting new projects and conversions Part 4.

This time I'll go through troops, fast attack and heavy support. Let's take a peek inside.

Troops

Chaos Space Marines

I'll include 1 squad of Chaos Space Marines, consisting out of 10 marines, acting as firing support. Though I'm still hesitant to buy marines, my gut feeling tells me there will be a new Chaos Space Marine kit to match with the current releases. I'll wait a bit longer before making a final decision. Neverless I still need the marines, so I've been digging through my CSM collection and stumbled across some Plague Marines. I think these will make decent proxies untill I get the better looking ones. Even so, their looks still doesn't match being your basic Black Legion marine clad in black armour. I've decided they will get the Mark of Nurgle to match their appearance. Basicly there's nothing wrong having 10 T5 marines standing at the back of your army. Even if my opponent manages to deepstrike behind my lines these marines can last a taddy bit longer than usual due to their high toughness for a measily 30 points. As for the special and heavy weapon loadout I haven't decided yet.

Cultists

These will be painted to match  the Dark Apostle (or the other way around). I'll be mainly using red to paint their robes/jackets and hood/masks, whilst keeping black, white and brown in the same scheme.

The only challenging part would be their skin. Personally I imagine Cultists to be outcasts from society, hiding in dark eerie places such as sewers, cellars and such during daylight. Because of this their skin lack sunlight, which makes them pale compared to a average person.

To reach this result I will use grey-ish colours to paint their skin, followed by some slightly bit of Elf Flesh mixed into it.

Fast Attack

Raptors/ Warp Talons

I'll be including 1 unit of 10 Raptors in my force, performing fast shock assaults. Though I might bump into a few nasty vehicles I probably let them carry 2 Melta guns as a safety measure. Regarding special weapons, the only thing I can confirm so far is the kit having at least 1 Melta- and 1 Plasma gun ( see pictures above). While my Raptors will be carrying Melta guns I will have 2 Plasma guns left to distribute among my force. Most likely my regular CSM squad will carry both guns to eliminate high armoured units. Btw....yes the colours will be the same as the one shown above.

Heavy Support

Forgefiends

Within my force I'll include at least 2 Forgefiends. Due to the limitation of 1000 points I need to keep these as basic/cheap as I can. This means both Forgefiends will be equipped with 2 Hades Autocannons each.
Also I will do a headswap using the Plasma head, as it's far more vicious and chaotic-looking  than the beast version. So the final version will look exactly the same as the one above. Though I do want to retain the option to replace the Hades Autocannons with Ectoplasm Cannons, not to mention saving money on purchasing another kit, I will magnetize the armparts for fast swapping.

Part 5, also the last part of the series, will feature my conversion ideas regarding the Daemon Prince. In this article I'll tell what's on my mind and how I'm going to try to build a unique Daemon Prince, fitting into the newest CSM.
