Chaos Space Marines: Reviewing, purchasing, setting new projects and conversions Part 5. (FINAL)

Welcome back to part 5, also the last part of the series, featuring the Daemon Prince conversion. I'm going through several ideas using pictures, so you'll get a better view what's on my mind.

                                                          Concept

The main purpose of the Daemon Prince in my CSM force is simply being a replacementmodel. Before we continue it's important to set up a list about it's appearance. How a Daemon Prince should look like is relatively a subjective matter. According to my vision the model in my CSM force should be:

- A good representation of a Lord who's transformed into a Daemon Prince.

- He should retain a lot of his former features

- His old armour change along with him as he decends into daemonhood. Although some armourparts might change during the process, f.e. Terminator Armour. As I find it hard to imagine a Daemon Prince wearing Terminator armour ( though it's a nice idea) it should be toned down a bit to power armour-looks, just like in the picture above.

- As a replacement-model he doesn't come along with wings. So no wings on my Daemon Prince!

- As rarely seen with conversion, I want my Daemon Prince to wear a helmet. This should be in line with the current DV Chosen. I personally prefer the Chaos Lord helmet.

- As for the weapon I want my Daemon Prince to carry a BIG nasty sword. The sword will have some features which shows it's daemonically tainted.

As I've set a few points which will form the basic/concept of my Daemon Prince, there's certainly a few details which I want to include.

Armour

As this model represents a Lord being ascended into daemonhood, it should show certain details him being a former Chaos Space Marine.  The easiest way to do this is is by applying CSM armour onto the model. The most distinct feature would be his helmet.

Weapon

What else needs to be done aside his armour?.... Yes his weapon ofcourse. Him being a former Chaos Lord I need to find a weapon which suits him as a member from the Black Legion. In this case I will pick a sword as it's pretty much the most neutral weapontype.

As you can see I've picked a picture of World of Warcraft's Dreadlord. I will use his silhouette as the basic for my Daemonprince. In the end it will be towering monstrosity with glowing eyes and big horns (actually the horns are from his helmet).

The helmet should look similar to the DV's Chaos Lord combined with Forge World's Decimator Daemon Engine. When it's finished it needs to be coloured so it ends up with the same feeling when looking at the Lich King from World of Warcraft.

Armourplates should be almost identical as the previous Daemon Prince model, except his arms should be more slick and in proportion with the rest of his body.

His legs will somehow have a mixture of Forge World's Decimator Daemon Engine and Games Workshop's newest Daemon Prince. I've already set my eyes upon the Forgefiend's front legs. It should make a good basic for it.
